Take part in the world famous cod fishing in the Borgundfjorden by Ålesund and enjoy the nature and the most beautiful city of Norway from the sea!ACTIN takes you on the search for the unique Borgundfjord cod. Starting point is Ålesund, where you can be prepared for an unforgettable experience surrounding the special cod fishery which takes place in the local area. We use the fishing boat Vikaskjær of 50 feet with a large space on the deck and plenty of working space for 8 persons. The fishery takes place from the middle of January to the end of April - this is the period when the cod and the herring arrives the coast on their search for spawning grounds.The trip starts from Dronning Sonjas Plass at Ålesund harbour early in the morning. The fishery takes place in Borgundfjorden, Hessafjorden and in Breisundet. Approximately 3-4 hours of active fishing, coffee and something hot is served on board. All equipment needed (flotation suits, fishing rods and jigs) can be rented with a small fee. Return to Ålesund port.All participants are obliged to use flotation suits or life jackets on board the boat. This is available on board.
