In October 2009, the National Geographic Traveller magazine and the National Geographic Centre for Sustainable Destinations rated (for the second time in five years) the Norwegian fjords as the world's best nature based destination. 437 experts from the whole world working within the tourism industry rated 133 destinations world wide, and gave the Fjord Norway area 85 of 85 possible points!
The jury further reveals that the phantastic nature based scenery and well preserved nature is the main reason for rating the world's best destination within sustainable tourism.
