Experience Geiranger and the surrounding area out of season. While
summer is hectic and charming in its own way, the other seasons are
splendid in the fjord country as well. There are fewer people and the
natural environment arguably offers more than in the summer. You will
never forget a fine spring day under the Seven Sisters – it is pure
magic.

In the spring the waterfalls are at their largest and most majestic. The air is bracing and the colour of the light is subtly nuanced. The trees are awakening and suddenly grey, cold mountainsides and valleys are becoming green and full of life. A long weekend here in April or May gives you sensual experiences you will never forget.
In the autumn the colours creeping down the mountainsides are fascinating, as summer’s hectic life prepares for the darker time. The whole area is an eldorado for picking berries and mushrooms. Or perhaps you are a keen fisherman and want to use the late summer and autumn to fish for salmon and trout? The autumn is also wonderful for walking in the mountains, whether you prefer summit ascents or want to walk from cabin to cabin in Tafjordfjella.
Many activities and experiences are available to our guests in the spring and autumn as well. There are bikes, kayaks and boats to hire and you have no excuse for a passive holiday. Galleries and exhibitions are open and you can enjoy the fjord in all sorts of ways.
