Monday-Friday, you can get to Runde by public transport (bus combined with speed boat). Alternatively, you can use your own or a rented car. Contact Trafikanten on phone 177 (if you are in the county), or +47 71 58 78 00 from outside, to find a schedule suited to your needs. "Rutebok for Norge" also gives good and useful information about the whole country, and has in addition some information in English If you are coming with your own boat, you will find a guest marina on the northern part of the island. During the summer season (approx. at the end of June to mid August), you can join the exciting activity Wild life Sea Safari, which leaves from the centre of Ålesund 5 times a week (evening). It goes to the bird mountain if the weather conditions are permitting (not possible to go ashore). If you have your own car, drive the main road 61 towards Fosnavåg and take off direction Runde (marked by signs).
